After a quiet evening snow will break out south to north after midnight, with some sleet and freezing rain mixing in towards dawn. Rain will mix in with the snow and ice from south to north Wednesday, with all rain expected by afternoon. Snow is expected to accumulate 2 to 4 inches late tonight through Wednesday morning with up to a tenth of an inch of ice as well, with a winter weather advisory going into effect for the entire area after midnight but winding down midday Wednesday. Total precipitation (rain plus melted snow and ice) is expected to be in the 1 to 2 inch range, with a flood watch going into effect early Wednesday morning and continuing into early Thursday morning along and south of Interstate 70 (except beginning this evening in Tyler County). Rain will wind down to some drizzle and fog late Wednesday night, with Thursday and Friday turning out mainly dry with seasonable temperatures. Rain is expected to return over the weekend.
